2023 Kia EV6 Overview
The Kia EV6 is an all-electric compact crossover SUV and available to purchase and lease right now at Glassman Kia Southfield. The EV6 has been a fantastic success thus far achieving critical acclaim from the most prestigious outlets and winning over consumers as well. That has led to great excitement about the Kia EV9, which is the next vehicle based on the E-GMP. The EV9 is also an SUV but a midsize vehicle with three rows and seating for up to eight. With that in mind, let’s compare the Kia EV6 vs Kia EV9 and highlight the differences that we think we matter most to the average consumer.

If the overall size of the vehicle matters to you, then it’s important to note that the Kia EV9 is bigger than the Kia EV6, but the difference isn’t as substantial as it can sometimes be between a midsize and crossover. The EV6 measures 184.8 inches in length, which is 15.4 feet. The EV9, on the other hand, measures 197.4 inches, which is about 16.5 feet. The EV9 also has a longer wheelbase by 5.6 inches and is taller by 9.3 inches and wider by 3.5 inches, and at 7.8 inches, the ground clearance of the EV9 is greater by 1.7 inches. Alloy wheels are standard in both cases, and options range from 19 to 21 inches.

The big difference when comparing the Kia EV6 vs Kia EV9 as far as the cabin is concerned is seating capacity. The EV6 is a five-passenger vehicle. The EV9 is a three-row vehicle and can seat up to eight in its standard configuration or up to seven if you opt for the second-row captain’s chairs. As far as legroom, headroom and so forth, the final numbers weren’t available as of this writing for the EV9 as it’s still a pre-production vehicle. You can expect similar spaciousness in the front row. The second row of the EV6 accommodates adults, but the EV9 will give you a bit more legroom. The EV6 has more dedicated cargo space, but the EV9 provides more when the third row isn’t needed.

Kia EV6 Mechanical specs
Both the Kia EV6 and Kia EV9 give you the option of either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. RWD drive models provide better EPA-estimate range. Top range is higher in the EV6 by about 10 miles, but both give you options ranging from 200 miles to more than 300 miles. Charging times are close enough not to be a deciding factor for most. Both models offer more performance than you’d expect from the gas-powered versions of those vehicle types, but if you want top performance for either towing purposes or the exhilarating driving experience than the EV9 and its 576 horsepower is where it’s at.

Technology – Kia Dealership in Southfield MI
There isn’t a great amount of difference when comparing the technologies as both the EV6 and EV9 available at Glassman Kia Southfield offer the same exact equipment, including a 12.3-inch infotainment touch screen. If you choose the base EV6, then you have the option of a Technology package that expands the base driver assists with a surround-view camera, a blind-spot camera and so forth. With the EV9, that’s all included in the base package, so you’ll want to consider that when comparing the price.
